Do You Know What Your Kids Believe About Israel?
Acts 7:55 But being full of His Holy Spirit, he gazed intently into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of Yahweh.
According to a Harvard/Harris poll, 51 percent of Americans ages 18-24 believe Hamas was justified in its brutal terrorist attacks on innocent Israeli citizens on October 7.
Fifty-one percent? How can this be?
Hamas was justified in roasting babies in ovens. What? In decapitating them? In burning whole families alive? In raping old and young women until their pelvises were broken, before shooting them in the head? In kidnapping holocaust survivors?
Hamas was justified. What? Their extremists and demonic.
What about those under the age of 18? What do they think about Israel?
A recent article in the Jerusalem Post explained that "Around five dozen individuals, some associated with Hamas and collectively boasting more than 100 million social media followers, have been waging a propaganda campaign against Israel on various social media platforms since the start of the Swords of Iron war on October 7."
Perhaps one of your kids follows them as well, thinking they're getting solid information when in reality they're getting Hamas propaganda which even include such things as 'TikTok dances to help Hamas fight Israel' making it seem fun and cool to help Hamas.
"Parents Don't Realize the Propaganda Our Kids are Hearing and Believing"
What I’ve been hearing from teenagers around my community is that their watching these social media sites and believe what their saying to them. It’s breaking my heart, and I know it is yours too as a parent.
I’ve been talking to video gamers around and those young people are all convinced their fine.
I talked to one young man about the games, and he said “Gosh, I do think I could be getting brain washed. He said I don’t want to play those games anymore, but I can’t stop for some reason.” And this young man is a child of God. He says he prays for Jesus to help him to stop. And he does for a week or so and then is pulled back to those brainwashing games. I feel bad for this sweet young man that truly wants to stop. I do believe he will soon. He’s determined and he has Jesus to help him and lots of prayers going out to him.
I have been hearing from parents all over our community that their taking their kids out of the public schools and doing homeschooling with them instead. And the kids are begging for their parents to be ok with this. The godly kids feel so disappointed in their schools and especially their teachers, for not standing up for them.
Time to Sound the Alarm
Sometimes we say things like, "I don't want to be an alarmist."
Today, we should say, "I want to be an alarmist. I'm trying to sound the trumpet/shofar. I'm shouting at the top of my lungs!" Yeshua/Jesus help us all!
An op-ed by Jessica Guynn on USA Today stated that:
Jewish social media influencers are calling on TikTok to combat an alarming surge in antisemitism that they say is making the popular short-form video platform unsafe for the Jewish community.
Your Jewish creators who regularly enliven the For You page with videos of dancing, cooking, singing and positivity of all kinds are being bombarded with inhumanity solely due to our ethno-religious identity.
Yes, "The daily hate and harassment that regularly targets Jewish content creators on TikTok 'has been compounded to unimaginable degrees' since the Oct. 7 Hamas attacks, according to the more than three dozen social media influencers and public figures who signed the letter."
And who, exactly, is TikTok influencing? Young people, of course.
Just do a search for "social media antisemitism" and see what comes up, then ask yourself again, "Who is teaching and influencing my kids?"
And if you want to use popular media to help open their eyes, check out this Israeli satire on YouTube (under three minutes long), celebrating LGBTQH -- the H standing for Hamas. Like the best, most biting satire, it is all too close to reality.
It’s so disgusting to me. I feel like we really don’t belong here anymore. Our children and our young adult children don’t either. All we can do is stand with Yeshua and never let go. Stand out loud and say No More! I think it’s time to be strong in our faith and fight, use the Sword of God’s Word Out Loud!! It’s about time don’t you think?
